DO NOT BUY AN AMERICAN OR A KOREAN CAR!!!!! Am I the last person on earth to realize this? You will be slaughtered on depreciation.

trust me you do not want to do that....the american car of a 2005 has no point of having a v6 with 45,000 miles on it, its better off if you buy a new car within your budget and have it personalized to how you want it, because used cars will have side effects sooner or later guaranteed...(best answer please)

The older style malibus have a lot of problems.Engine, trans, electricial, brakes  are common repairs. The malibu is not one of chevrolets success stories. Most of the malibu owners ive talked to have nothing good to say about there car. These cars wont hold up well and are not cheap to repair. There are some really good car out there. The malibu is not one of them.Best of luck.

I had a 2001 malibu with a V6, got good gas milage and only had one problem with it in 60K miles. The fuel pump went out but I was able to replace it myself. I sold it to my niece and last I heard it had 160K. Other than the fuel pump the car required only normal maintenance. These cars will cost you less to own and maintain than most foreign makes. Good dependable transportation.

If it was well taken care of, it should be fine.  You only have problems with lack of maintenance or if you beat on your car (ie: racing).

I bought a used 2003 V6 malibu about 2 years ago.  It now has about 65,000 miles and has only had minor things (needed shock absorbers, etc) but just wear items that need replaced on every car.

Good gas mileage, reliable, and a comfortable car.

My brother recently traded off his 2000 Malibu with 95,000 miles on a new 2007 Malibu.   It was very reliable and he had basically no problems at all

My parents just traded off their 1999 Malibu with 120,000 miles on a new Ford Five Hundred (they needed something slightly bigger because they're in their 70's).... but they never had any problems with the Malibu at all

I would recommend them .... very good cars.
