Executive Vice President, Interstate Realty Management
Mr Miller was named Executive Vice President in January of 2017. In his position, Mr Miller assists and supports the President as needed, coordinate other special projects as may arise, and serve as an authorization/signatory resource in the event of the President’s absence. His duties also include the oversight of the financial management and reporting requirements for the communities that IRM manages and oversight of the financial accounting and reporting for the IRM corporate entity as well as
several associated entities.
In his role overseeing the financial management and reporting of the communities where IRM provides property management services, Mr. Miller oversees a staff of approximately 60 professionals who provide accounting, billing, accounts payable and cash management support. This department, working in
conjunction with the operational staff, is responsible for a variety of tasks including budget preparation and tracking the financial results of community operations, processing payments to vendors, preparation and submission of voucher payment requests to HUD and other entities that provide rental assistance
to residents of IRM communities, managing the treasury operations of the communities and assisting in the preparation and review of annual audited financial statements.
Mr. Miller joined IRM in 1994 as a Regional Accounting Manager after having worked for a CPA firm that specialized in providing auditing and tax advisory services to the affordable housing industry. Mr. Miller continued working in various roles in financial management at IRM until 2003 when he took a position as an Operational Vice President. His role as an Operational VP included overseeing a portfolio of up to 60 communities that covered the entire spectrum of the properties that IRM manages.
In 2011 Mr. Miller took a position as a Vice President with Prestige Affordable Housing Equity Partners, a low-income housing tax credit syndication that is also a member of the Michaels Organization, where he was responsible for assisting in the underwriting and modeling of tax credit syndications as well
as asset management and investor reporting.
Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting (cum laude) from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Taxation from Temple University. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and also holds Real Estate Broker licenses in 7 states.
