Mikki Anderson is a Vice President of Development in Michaels Development Company’s Chicago office. She previously served as a Program Officer for Housing and Economic Development for the Steans Family Foundation, which is dedicated to the revitalization of the North Lawndale neighborhood in Chicago. At the Foundation, Ms. Anderson was responsible for creating and implementing strategies for affordable housing and economic development. She also provided housing-related technical assistance to not-for-profit community-based housing developers and local Community Development Corporations.
Prior to that, Ms. Anderson worked for more than nine years with The Habitat Company, which at that time, was serving as the court-appointed Receiver for the Chicago Housing Authority. As a Development Manager with Habitat, Ms. Anderson had primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of two HOPE VI revitalization efforts, one mixed-income, mixed-finance development, and one scattered site development.
Ms. Anderson received a BA in English from Northern Illinois University and studied Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Ms. Anderson is a licensed Real Estate Professional in the State of Illinois.
