Beginning on Friday, February 2nd, 2018, The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation opened its application window for the 2018-2019 school year. In its effort to support young scholars all over the country in their pursuit for a higher education, this marks the the 28th year since Michaels first began the Educational Foundation scholarship program. To this date, The Michaels Organization Education Foundation has supported over 2500 students all over the country and supplied $5.9 million dollars to help fund them in their academic studies.
For the first time ever, The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation has committed to awarding at least $500,000 in college scholarships to residents of our affordable and military housing communities.
The application process is now open for the academic year 2018/2019 and residents can find the application at this link.
All residents who live in Michaels-owned or managed communities are eligible to apply. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 per student and may be used at any accredited college, university, or vocational training school.
The scholarship program for Michaels residents, which is now in its 27th year, is the primary way that The Michaels Organization "gives back" to its communities -- by investing in what matters. All teammates at affordable and military communities are asked to encourage their residents to apply.
All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. One reference and a written essay is also required. Applications must be received by the Foundation no later than April 12th, 2018. Awards will be announced in May 2018. Funds are then paid directly to the educational organization
