Garrison Command to Join Michaels to Mark the Start of New Neighborhood Featuring Townhomes for Officer Housing
Fort Leavenworth, KS, June 9, 2026 — Garrison Commander Colonel Todd Sunday will headline a groundbreaking ceremony, Tuesday, June 16th, at Ft. Leavenworth Army Base. The ceremony will mark the start of a new neighborhood featuring 48 new townhomes that are being developed to replace outdated legacy housing first built in 1959. The neighborhood, to be called New Kansa, is part of Frontier Heritage Communities, the privatized family housing on post owned and managed by The Michaels Organization.

DETAILS: Ft. Leavenworth leadership will join its private-sector housing partner, The Michaels Organization, for a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the replacement of 48 legacy homes built in the 1950s, with modern two-story townhomes. New Kansas will feature spacious, energy-efficient homes in four-bedroom, 2.5 bath layouts with fenced backyards and private patios. The homes will be offered to Officers (03-04), offering upscale living in a vibrant, modern, family-friendly neighborhood.
