The Michaels Organization Brings Together Teammates Nationwide for Fourth Annual National Day of Service

From its corporate headquarters to communities across its portfolio, Michaels teammates spent the day giving back

Camden, NJ – Oct 28, 2026 – The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, brought together its 2,700+ teammates for its fourth annual National Day of Service on Friday, October 23rd. From its corporate headquarters in Camden, NJ, to the nearly 600 communities it serves across 39 states, Washington, D.C., and the US Virgin Islands, teammates dedicated the day to supporting local organizations and strengthening the neighborhoods where Michaels owns and operates housing.

“Our promise of Lifting Lives is a very meaningful, powerful message, and in order for it to be real, we have to live it every single day,” said Chief Executive Officer John J. O’Donnell, during the kickoff at Michaels Camden headquarters. “Giving back is part of who Michaels is.”

In Camden, corporate teammates volunteered at eight sites throughout the city, cleaning parks, preparing casseroles and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, painting, and organizing supplies. Locations included Lucy Outreach, Boys and Girls Club, Pyne Poynt park, Authentic Minds, MJ Kidz, Cathedral Kitchen, Sisters of Saint Joseph, and the Salvation Army Kroc Center.

Across the country, teammates serving Michaels’ affordable, student, military, and market-rate communities participated in projects addressing local needs. Among them, teammates from Heritage Landing at Fort Benning helped Feeding the Valley prepare 18,592 meals for local families and children. They also organized donations and refreshed spaces at Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Valley Rescue Mission’s Women’s and Children’s Community Center.

Established in 2023, Michaels’ National Day of Service gives teammates an annual opportunity to step away from their daily responsibilities and volunteer for the day, resulting in thousands of service hours for people and communities in need across the country.

The Michaels Organization’s commitment to corporate responsibility and “giving back” extends far beyond this single day of service. Through its resident scholarship program, partnerships with nonprofits, and involvement in workforce development initiatives, Michaels continues to invest in the long-term success of its residents, communities, and teammates.
