Educational Foundation
Michael J. Levitt, our founder and chairman — and the “Mike” in Michaels — always says that education is the most effective investment we can make, so he and his wife Pat founded The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation in 1991. Every year since, the foundation has bestowed college scholarships to residents of our rental communities.
When it was established, the Foundation was the first of its kind in the affordable housing industry. Since its inception, the program has expanded to include residents of Michaels’ military and student living communities as well.

Social Services & Community Impact
One of our key initiatives is our strategic partnership with the non-profit organization Better Tomorrows, which has been providing comprehensive programming and individualized case management to help neighborhoods thrive since 1989. This is a place-based social service for affordable housing communities that is focused around Health and Wellness, Educational Success, Economic Stability, and Strong Communities.
