Eirk Roberson Promoted to Executive VP of Investment Management

The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, is pleased to announce the promotion of Erik Roberson to Executive Vice President of Investment Management. In this elevated role, Roberson will lead Michaels’ investment management platform across its affordable, market-rate, student, and military housing portfolios.

Roberson, who joined Michaels in 2021 as a Regional Vice President of Investment Management, will oversee strategic investments of the company’s existing portfolio, including loan conversions, debt refinancing, comparable analyses, tax credit resyndication opportunities, military housing development, risk management, and investor relations.

“Erik’s promotion reflects his outstanding contributions to our organization and his deep expertise in investment management,” said Mark Morgan, CEO of The Michaels Organization. “His leadership and innovative approach have been instrumental in optimizing our portfolio performance and identifying new growth opportunities. We’re confident that in this expanded role, Erik will continue to drive significant value for our residents, partners, and investors.”

Prior to joining Michaels in the role of Regional Vice President, Roberson served as a Director with CRC Companies, where he was responsible for project design, budgeting, and delivery of all asset types, in addition to leading major entitlement and ground lease negotiation efforts. His successful track record includes work on more than $1 billion of assets at various stages of the development pipeline. Notably, Roberson brings considerable asset management and financing experience specific to military properties, including the execution of a first-of-its-kind public bond offering.

Roberson succeeds Matt Sullivan in the EVP role, following Sullivan’s elevation to Chief Operating Officer this past June.

Roberson holds a Master of Business Administration from The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Professional Nuclear Engineer Officer certification from the U.S. Department of Energy.
