Details:
A ceremonial groundbreaking for Young Village, the largest new home development at Fort Belvoir since the initial development concluded in 2010. Young Village will be 200 three-story, attached townhouses, each with first-floor two-car garages. The three- and four-bedroom layouts and spacious 2,500+ square foot homes will emphasize comfort and functionality, offering high-quality finishes throughout, beautifully appointed kitchens, and outdoor patios. The neighborhood amenities include play spaces, a dog park, and walking paths. The Village name is a tribute to Col. Charles Young, a soldier, diplomat, and civil rights leader, who overcame stifling inequality to become a leading figure in the years after the Civil War when the United States emerged as a world power.
About Michaels: The Michaels Organization has been a Department of War private-sector partner since 2004, “housing heroes, and serving families.” The new Young Village development is part of a $500 million development investment Michaels announced in 2024, benefiting its military housing portfolio, which includes new construction and renovations at multiple installations across the country.
