Where: 3030 West 21st Place Chicago, IL 60623

Details:

Albany Terrace, a 17-story high-rise community serving seniors with low and moderate incomes located in the South Lawnside neighborhood of Chicago’s Lower West Side, recently underwent a significant $93 million revitalization, which included upgrades to the 350 units as well as major improvements to the building’s common spaces and building systems.

As part of the renovations, units received new flooring, painting, LED lighting, upgraded kitchens and baths, HVAC upgrades, central air conditioning, and new electrical and plumbing replacements. A third elevator was added to the building to accommodate the building’s 350 apartments.  An on-site management office, fitness center, package room, health and wellness center and community room have been added to the development as tenant amenities.  Additionally, exterior renovations have been completed to include masonry repairs, walking paths, parking lot improvements and more.

The rehabilitation of Albany Terrace was financed through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD’s) RAD program with financial support from the City of Chicago and the Chicago Housing Authority.  US Bank is the project’s construction lender and investor.
