New Student Housing will Bring 287 Beds and an Array of Amenities to Lynn University
Aug 27, 2025, Camden, NJ — Today, The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, together with the leadership of Lynn University, celebrated the grand opening of Banyan Residence Hall, new student housing located on the southeast corner of the University’s campus.
Developed through a partnership between the University, Michaels, and Provident Resources Group, the new community arrives at a pivotal time, as Lynn recently announced its largest enrollment total to date, with more than 1,250 students joining the campus this fall. The $47.2 million development is also a reflection of the University’s 2025 strategic plan to elevate the Lynn experience with a specific goal of developing long-term student housing.
“We’re extremely proud to welcome students to the new Banyan Residence Hall, which has been created with their specific needs in mind,” said Ned Williams, Michaels’ Executive Vice President of Development. “We have had a great collaboration with the leadership and students at Lynn, and we are proud to have delivered a project that met the university’s specific needs, and did so on time and on budget.”
The 101,232-square-foot community comprises 287 beds, featuring two- and four-bedroom units for second-year students, as well as five resident assistant rooms and housing for an on-site staff area coordinator.
Community amenities include a classroom, a community center, multiple lounges, a study room, meeting spaces, package lockers, and a community mailbox area. Outside, the building features improved walkways and a courtyard with furniture, grilling and dining areas, a fire pit, and ample lounge space.
Provident Resources Group served as the public-private partnership (P3) owner and ground lessee. The project team also included architect Ayers Saint Gross, Brailsford and Dunlavey, and general contractor Kaufman Lynn.
Michaels Student Living, which currently provides property management services to Lynn’s Capstone Apartments and Perper Residence Hall, will also manage Banyan Residence Hall.
