The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, is pleased to announce that Ian Peahota has been promoted to Vice President of Design Management. He brings over 18 years of experience to the role.
Peahota joined Michaels in 2022 as a Director of Design Management. In his new role as Vice President, Peahota leads design teams in all aspects of site and vertical design and manages the entitlement and permitting process. He is responsible for the vision and process from concept through construction for Michaels’ student housing, attainable/workforce, and market-rate housing portfolio. Peahota also works closely with colleagues across Michaels’ areas of expertise to ensure that the design program and building product are balanced to meet client expectations while maintaining financial viability.
Peahota values the strong relationships built with University and community partners and ensures inclusivity through a listen-first approach to each development. He thrives in complexity, leveraging his passion and expertise to deliver exceptional results while nurturing lasting partnerships within the industry.
Prior to joining Michaels, Peahota worked for several architecture firms specializing in multifamily and student housing in Washington, DC, and continued his career within the hospitality industry, focused on design, construction, site planning, guest experience, and prototype development.
Peahota earned his B.S. in Architecture from The Catholic University of America and his Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
