Michaels Names New Vice Presidents Of Development

Michaels is pleased to announce the addition of three new Vice Presidents to its Development team. John Mimms, who first joined Michaels in 2017 as a Development Officer, has been promoted to Vice President for our California region. With this promotion, John will be taking on a greater role in managing the multi-phase Jordan Downs redevelopment in Los Angeles.
In addition to John's promotion, Michaels also welcomed two new Vice Presidents to its affordable development team: Christian O’Connor and Andrea Keeney. Christian will be overseeing Michaels’ growing portfolio in Hawaii, while Andrea joins our Chicago office, which handles developments in Illinois and surrounding states. All three of these new Vice Presidents will be involved in all aspects of the development cycle, including site acquisition, community outreach, underwriting, negotiations, as well as design and construction management.
Before joining Michaels, Christian was Director of Development at Coastal Rim Properties in Honolulu. In his Director role, Christian successfully received the award for a 223-unit, $72 million affordable LIHTC residential tower in downtown.
Prior to starting at Michaels, Andrea was with The Habitat Company for close to a year. At the Habitat Company, she led a multi-phased, transit-oriented development in Chicago’s Bronzeville community. Before her time with The Habitat Company, Andrea was the Director of Development at Holsten Real Estate Development Corporation in Chicago.
