In this role, Amescua assumes lead responsibility for the day-to-day development operations in Michaels’ Western region
The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, is pleased to announce that Raoul Amescua has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Development.
In this role, Amescua will be an important part of Michaels’ Senior Leadership Team, overseeing all affordable, workforce, student, and market-rate multifamily housing development activities in the Western region of Michaels’ portfolio, including California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Utah, and Hawaii.
Amescua brings over 25 years of experience in real estate development and finance to his current role. He first joined Michaels in 2019 as a Vice President of Development for Michaels Student Living, responsible for expanding Michaels’ portfolio of higher-education public-private partnerships (P3) in California. Before joining Michaels, he served as Executive Director of Real Estate Services and Asset Management at the University of California, Riverside, where he led the planning, procurement, negotiations, and development of multiple P3 student housing and dining projects.
Amescua received his Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Home Builders, and the California Building Industry Association.
