Michaels Development has been selected by The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA)  as its private sector partner to rejuvenate Millvale, a public housing community located in historic South Cumminsville. The renovations will be accomplished using HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration program, known as RAD.RAD gives public housing authorities a way to access private dollars to repair roofs, plumbing and heating systems or even build new housing to replace properties that are falling apart. Housing authorities across the country are using the program, which has helped the agencies leverage $6 billion for renovation and construction needs.

CMHA is in the early stages of its deals with Michaels and three other developers selected as partners. The housing authority expects to complete agreements with the four developers in June, Wardlow according to a report by WCPO Cincinnati. The article, which can be accessed here, quoted Senior Vice President Milt Pratt. Greg Olson, Regional Vice President of Michaels’ Chicago Development, is leading the project.

Millvale will be Michaels' second development in Ohio, and the first in Cincinnati.
