Michaels Welcomes New Senior Vice President

The Michaels Organization announced today the addition of a new Senior Vice President to its affordable development team – Cody Roskelley. 

As Senior Vice President, Cody will focus on tax credit and workforce housing developments  in the Western region of Michaels’ portfolio.  

Cody is an established real estate professional with deep experience in affordable housing, multifamily acquisitions, management, development, and rehabilitations. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with general contractors, insurance companies, government agencies, and architectural and engineering teams to coordinate projects and secure funding. 

Cody previously served as Senior Developer/Acting Regional Vice President for Pennrose where his team successfully secured a $50M Choice Neighborhood Initiative Implementation grant in addition to 9% deals. Before this, he served as Vice President of Real Estate and Development with the Houston Housing Authority where he oversaw four different projects that received over $45M in CDBG funds and oversaw the collection of over $50M in Hurricane Harvey reimbursement from FEMA. 

Cody has also worked as a consultant for his own business, Community Builders, where he served as an executive consultant for multi-family owners and operators, providing guidance on improving rehabs, acquisitions, operating costs, hiring and onboarding strategies, and more.

Cody earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate from Rice University and his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Real Estate from Brigham Young University. He is a real estate broker in the state of Texas, a Director for the APV Redevelopment Board, and holds a Texas Tax Credit Experience certification.
