The Michaels Organization Announces Retirement Of Donna Jack Vice President Of Human Resources

The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate that has been pioneering solutions to the nation’s housing challenges for more than 50 years, has announced that after 12 years leading Michaels’ Human Resources department,  Vice President Donna Jack will be retiring, effective January 2024.

During a period of sustained growth for Michaels, Donna has played a pivotal role in transforming and elevating every aspect of Michaels’ Human Resources department, impacting crucial operations such as Employee Benefits, Talent Development and Training, Compliance, Recruitment, and Talent Management. 

“Donna has showcased a new level of exceptional leadership at Michaels,” said John O’Donnell, Chief Executive Officer of The Michaels Organization. “She embodied our core values and fully embraced our promise that Lifting Lives Begins with our Teammates. We thank her for sustained excellence and wish her all the best in her retirement.”

Under Donna’s guidance and expertise, Michaels has introduced wellness programs as part of a comprehensive strategy to help teammates invest in their health and well-being. Donna also championed the establishment of a variety of initiatives and programs at Michaels including executive coaching and internship and mentorship programs, a diverse range of online and in-person training opportunities for teammates at every level of the organization, and a robust Employee Assistance Program.

Donna’s innovative spirit also led to the initiation of teammate surveys used to improve leadership practices and enhancements to annual events such as Michaels’ Achievers Summit which honors the organization’s top performers. She was also a driving force behind the formation of Michaels’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council.

Beyond these accomplishments, Donna significantly contributed to the improvement of Michaels’ compensation structure and the expansion of employee benefits, all while efficiently managing organizational resources. Her expertise guided management through the successful onboarding of new teammates during major acquisitions, including the largest affordable housing acquisition in Michaels’ history.

As Donna embarks on this new chapter of her life, her legacy of excellence and innovation will continue to resonate throughout Michaels.
