Applications are now open for residents of affordable and military communities owned and managed by The Michaels Organization to apply for academic scholarships
Feb 2, 2026, Camden, NJ — The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation, a privately funded, nonprofit affiliate of The Michaels Organization, is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2026/2027 academic year. Residents of Michaels-owned and managed Affordable and Military housing communities who have a high school diploma or equivalent and plan to pursue higher education at a university, college, or trade/professional school are encouraged to apply.
Applications can be found online at michaelsscholars.com and will remain open until April 15th. All applicants who submit a completed application will be notified of the outcome status of their application by June 12th.
“It’s an honor to offer our residents the opportunity to expand their knowledge, and to read their stories and watch them succeed each year,” said Michaels’ Chief Executive Officer Mark Morgan. “The Educational Foundation is an essential piece of our commitment to Lifting the Lives of our residents beyond just housing.”
Since its inception in 1991, The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation has awarded more than $19 million to students across Michaels’ portfolio of communities. Last year’s Affordable and Military program granted a record-breaking $2.4 million in scholarships to 282 Michaels residents.
Scholarships are awarded annually, and students may reapply each year of their education for continuing grants. Non-traditional students, including those looking for new career opportunities and those who may have started post-secondary education but were unable to complete it earlier in their lives, are also eligible for this unique opportunity.
Foundation funds are raised through voluntary contributions by corporations, companies, families, private trusts, and individuals throughout The Michaels Organization’s business network. All donations are then matched $2 for every $1 by The Michaels Organization’s Founder and Chairman, Michael J. Levitt, and his wife, Pat Levitt.
A separate scholarship program for residents of Michaels’ Student Living communities will be available later this year.
