The Michaels Organization Participates in Camden Corporate Intern Day

The Michaels Organization Participates in Camden Corporate Intern Day

On Thursday, July 11, The Michaels Organization participated in the first-ever Corporate Intern Day presented by the Downtown Camden Young Professionals, an initiative led by the Downtown Camden Business Improvement District (CBID) and the Camden Special Services District (CSSD).

Held at Michaels’ HQ office, over 140 interns from 12 different corporate, governmental, and non-profit organizations across Downtown Camden came together for a day of networking and learning.

“Through the CSSD/ Camden Business Improvement District’s Young Professionals Initiative, including the Young Professionals Council (YPC), we are excited to host events like the ‘Downtown Camden Corporate Intern Day’ to engage young professionals and provide a platform for networking and collaboration,” said Raymond Romo, Interim Executive Director for the CSSD/CBID. “The support from partners such as The Michaels Organization has been instrumental in making these events possible and fostering a strong employee culture that supports and participates in Downtown community events like this one.”

The day also featured a “How I Started My Career” panel with six young professionals from organizations throughout the city sharing their experiences and insights working in Camden. Among the panelists was Dylan Vacarralla, Development Associate for The Michaels Organization, who also co-leads Michaels’ own Young Professionals Network Employee Resource Group.

“It was a real pleasure to represent The Michaels Organization and speak on the lessons I have learned in my short career with so many interns from so many great Camden companies. A big thank-you to Ray Romo from Camden Special Services District and Sarah Lambert from Conner Strong & Buckelew for organizing such a well-attended event,” Vaccarella said. “We are building something truly special for the greater Camden business community and I cannot wait for the growth we have in store.”

The Michaels Organization is proud to support the CBID, CSSD, and the Downtown Camden Young Professionals Council and to have the opportunity to inspire and teach young talent.
