Companies’ TRIAD Headquarters in Camden, NJ, Showcases A Liberty Bell Constructed with Canned Goods that will be Donated to the South Jersey Food Bank
Today, executives from The Michaels Organization and Urban Practice came together today to unveil a Liberty Bell made entirely out of canned goods in the lobby of their headquarters building on the Camden waterfront. The food goods were all donated by teammates, as part of a local Canstruction event organized by the West Jersey Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, benefitting the Food Bank of South Jersey.
Michaels is a national leader in residential real estate and Urban Practice is a leading residential architecture, design, and planning firm. Both organizations, which often are partners in community development projects, moved their headquarters to the TRIAD, when it opened seven years ago.
““Participating in Canstruction is such a creative and fun way for our organizations to “give back,” to the Camden community,” said Kimberlee Schreiber, President of Michaels Management. “We are so grateful and proud of teammates, who never fail to amaze us with their generosity.” Schreiber said.
Camden County Commissioner, Colleen Bianco Bezich, was also on hand to thank Michaels and Urban Practice staff members, who altogether donated 3,600 cans of food.
“It’s so important, especially to focus on food insecurity during the summer months,” said Camden County Commissioner Bezich. “We have to take care of our neighbors and we have to make sure that our communities are fed and healthy, so thank you to who came together to make this happen.”
Jane Asselta, President and CEO of the Food Bank of South Jersey, also expressed gratitude and support to Michaels and UP, for their ongoing support and commitment to Camden, and all the nonprofits who serve the city and the county.
“Each can, each box, represents hope and sustenance, which along with freedom, is something we all should not take for granted,” said Bryon Yoder, Principal of Urban Practice.
Designed by members of Urban Practice’s architectural team, the Liberty Bell pays tribute to American’s 250th anniversary, which is the theme of this year’s local Canstruction competition.
The donated cans will be brought to the Food Bank of South Jersey after the formal competition at the Deptford Mall on July 12, 2026.
