Dartmouth College and Michaels Student Living are set to welcome their first Graduate Student residents to The Summit on Juniper, a new residential community, opening for the 2022 Fall semester.

Developed by Michaels Student Living in partnership with the College, The Summit on Juniper will help alleviate the housing crunch in New Hampshire’s Upper Valley while providing graduate students with the opportunity to enjoy comfortable and convenient living spaces designed specifically for student living.

“This student housing community demonstrates what is possible when colleges and universities form partnerships with private developers, leveraging the strengths of both,” said Ned Williams, Senior Vice President of Michaels Student Living. “We have had a great collaboration with the leadership and students at Dartmouth and are excited to deliver this affordable, sustainable living environment for their graduate students.”

The $83 million development features 309 units in four, 4-story buildings as well as a Community Center.  Offering 638 beds in fully-furnished apartments with spacious layouts and modern amenities, including a workout room, central gathering spaces, and study spaces.

“The Michaels’ team has been responsive to the needs of the college, our students, and the broader community. They even accelerated the delivery of two buildings and brought them online nearly 6-months early in response to an unanticipated spring housing crunch,” said Josh Keniston, Vice President of Campus Services and Institutional Projects at Dartmouth College. “They have been a great partner.”

Located on 53 acres of land just south of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the Summit on Jupiter offers significant green space, including the adjacent Boston Lot hiking trails. There is on-site bike storage and parking as well as access to a complimentary shuttle bus serving the campus. Dartmouth graduate students have first priority for the apartments, which began lease-up in February.

Michaels Student Living was selected as the developer by Dartmouth through a competitive bidding process. Michaels Management is serving as the property manager. Other members of the development team include the Architect JSA and General Contractor North Branch Construction.
