The Fort Leavenworth project involves the demolition and construction of an approximately $400 million development involving taxable bond financing. The entire project, awarded to the Michaels Organization under the Department of Defense’s Housing Privatization Program, required close coordination with multiple levels of the Department of the Army, the local community, prospective residents, and development team members. When completed the development included workforce housing for assigned service members with and without their families, and significant student housing.

A unique aspect of the Fort Leavenworth project is the student housing component associated with the United States Army Command and General Staff School (CGSS), which provides Intermediate Level Education (ILE) for United States Army and sister service officers, interagency representatives, and international military officers.
